About Me
As a New York native, I have found stories and heart in every corner of the bustling city. I grew up in a family of four, with my parents encouraging creativity from the early experiences of my childhood.
In a city that makes it so easy to remain anonymous, I found myself noticing the nuances that made it my home. When I was young, I began documenting New York through the lens of my father's Olympus E-M10 and writing journal entries about exploring a new part of the city with him. My dad taught me how to "shoot from the hip" to capture the unfiltered version of the public, and to this day, they're my favorite shots to take. I observed the people I walked passed and the environments that surrounded them, developing an eye to capture the perfect moment.
I found that my words on a page have always been stronger than the words that come out of my mouth. Whether it be a stream of consciousness or poetry, I've always found comfort in expressing myself in a way my voice couldn't. Journaling and poetry are what fueled my passion for writing, but capturing my ever-changing city sparked my interest in storytelling.
I am now studying Journalism at Boston University, where I am continuing to learn how to tell stories. Iām learning the proper skills and techniques to pursue writing as a career, wherever that may be.
I have been published in amNY, QNS, Sunnyside Post, Astoria Post, and the Long Island Press.
